Nostalgic Planta Nutri Buttery Cake
Soft, Moist & Buttery: A Butter Cake Recipe to Bake at Home
Some cakes don’t need cream or fancy decorations to win you over. A golden crust, a soft, moist crumb and that buttery aroma are enough to make you reach for another slice.
That’s what we love about this cake, made with Planta Nutri-Buttery.
A heartfelt thank-you to Chef Nico from Planta Professional Malaysia for generously sharing this recipe with us. It’s an honour for SK Homemade Cakes to recreate the cake and share it with you, both at the event and through a smaller recipe you can try at home.

For those who would like to recreate it at home, we’ve adapted the quantities for an 8-inch square tin.
| Group | Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| A | Planta Nutri-Buttery | 200 g |
| A | Castor sugar | 160 g |
| B | Eggs, weighed without shells | 210 g |
| C | All-Purpose Flour (9–10% protein) | 184 g |
| C | Baking Powder | 6.5 g |
| D | Milk | 50 g |
-
Preheat your oven to 175°C top and bottom heat. Grease and line an 8-inch square tin.
-
Cream Group A for 5 minutes.
-
Gradually add Group B until combined, then mix at medium speed for 1 minute.
-
Add Group C and mix until combined.
-
Add Group D on the lowest speed and mix until incorporated.
-
Pour into the prepared tin and level the batter. Bake for approximately 35–40 minutes, until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Start checking at 30 minutes, as baking time varies between ovens. Allow the cake to cool before slicing.
Thank you again, Chef Nico and Planta Professional Malaysia, for sharing the recipe and giving us the opportunity to recreate it. We hope it brings a little baking joy to your kitchen too.
